White water kayaking on the Lütschine, then Colombian-Swiss BBQ
Two of the most physical things you can do in the Berner Oberland, back to back: white water kayaking on the rivers fed by the Jungfrau meltwater, then a Colombian-Swiss BBQ at the river bank. Konrad kayaks alongside as certified guide, then grills as Colombian host.
The kayak section is grade 2–3 depending on the chosen run. The BBQ is whatever Konrad decides goes best on the day — usually a combination of Swiss grilling sausages and South American marinades.
Kayak briefing at Wilderswil
Helmets, spraydeck, and white water technique briefed for all. Konrad assesses the group and selects the appropriate run.
White water section
3-hour run on the Lütschine or Aare corridor. Konrad reads the water and calls lines. Safety eddy practice at the start.
Take-out and transition
Kayaks returned. Konrad sets up the grill at the river bank or a nearby outdoor space.
BBQ preparation
Colombian-Swiss mix: Swiss grilling sausages, chimichurri, corn, and grilled vegetables. Konrad cooks — you watch and recover from the kayaking.
Eat at the river
River views, cold drinks, sun. The most earned meal of the trip.
Grade 2–3 Schwarze Lütschine section below the village. Best in spring snowmelt — fast, technical, and genuinely exciting.
Grade 1–2 section on the Aare just below Interlaken. Wide and clean — ideal for less experienced groups.
